CHOCOLATE COVERED STRAWBERRIES

With Valentine's Day coming up, I wanted to share with you how to make chocolate covered strawberries. It may look difficult and time consuming, but this project is surprisingly easy and always a winner. I used a double boiler method to melt the chocolate and added a drizzle for a beautiful finish.

Ingredients:
1 bag of semi-sweet, milk, or dark chocolate chips
1 bag of white chocolate chips
1 box of strawberries (washed and dried)
1/4 Teaspoon of coconut oil (for shine)

Tools:
Pot for boiling water
Bowl that fits over the pot without touching the water
Foil / Plastic Wrap / Wax paper lined pan
Ziploc bag
Scissors

Steps:
1. Boil water in the pot then turn to very low heat and place the bowl over the pot.
2. Add white chocolate chips and coconut oil into the bowl and stir to melt evenly
3. Remove from heat and dip a strawberry into the chocolate making sure to turn (like when pouring wine) to remove the excess chocolate, and place on the lined pan. Repeat with all strawberries.
4. For the drizzle, melt the other colored chocolate, let cool until not burning hot, and place into a ziploc bag. Turn the top of the bag a few times and cut a small hole on the bottom corner to create a piping bag. Lightly squeeze and drizzle chocolate over the strawberries.
5. Refrigerate for 30 mins and enjoy.

I like to pick bigger strawberries and keep some of the red berry peeking through at the top for a nice color contrast. Good luck with your project and hope you get lots of compliments!
